*What you'll do – Global Analytics & Insights, Senior Director, Oncology*

We have an exciting opportunity for you to work as a Global Analytics and Insight (GA&I), Senior Director, Oncology Business Unit reporting in the Head, Global Analytics and Insight of the Oncology Business Unit (OBU). This is a senior leadership role within the OBU. You will lead a team of 6–8 Directors and Associate Directors and will be responsible for the scoping, design and delivery of the body of insight and analysis to support development of asset, indication and portfolio strategy for our rapidly expanding IO franchise. This is a senior level team and you will be responsible for setting priorities, managing significant workload for maximum impact, and supporting development and capability building for high performance individuals.

You will bring independent and strategic thinking to the assets and indications within the therapy area, acting as a strategic partner to the Global Franchise Head (Senior Executive Team –1) and the Global Product Leaders (GPL's) and Global Commercial Leads for the respective assets and tumours within the Immuno–Oncology (IO) portfolio. Key activities supported include all late stage investment decisions, performance reporting & understanding ahead of quarterly results, Annual Brand Strategy Plans as well as the Long Term Planning (LTP) cycle. For the LTP you will work with your Franchise Head, Franchise Business Partner, Regional Leads and Business Unit Heads to deliver the 10 year revenue forecasts for all the assets and indications (25+) within the Franchise remit. As such it presents a unique opportunity to shape the way we use customer and market insight and analysis to shape the AZ portfolio. You will also take responsibility for cross portfolio analysis to generate insight into the evolution of the IO Oncology Market and AZ's place within in it, in support of the Therapy Area Strategy.

You will sit on the GA&I Leadership Team and play an active part in driving good practice across your team and promoting capability build for the A&I function, in support of the Head of GA&I.

The Global Analytics and Intelligence (GA&I) organization focuses on four key responsibilities:

* Uncovering deep strategic understanding of patients, markets, stakeholders, competitors and brands to drive competitive advantage now and for the future

* Being a collaborative and strategic partner that provides objectivity to inform better decision making

* Providing recommendations based upon future–oriented insights and opportunities

* Providing an independent view in decision–making bodies with an external perspective, and a future–oriented insights and early warning intelligence.

GA&I core capabilities are comprised of:

* Strong analytics – ability to quantify strategy and support decisions with data analysis and modelling

* Insights focus – interpret patient, HCP, payer, performance data and more to shape the competitive strategies for our brands, inform better investment decision making and understand the implications for AstraZeneca

* Competitor Analysis – externally focused view to understand how competitor actions will impact AstraZeneca and the implications they will have on clinical trial and global commercial strategies

* GA&I uses these capabilities to drive decisions by valuing potential assets and shaping winning clinical and commercial strategies.

*Required experience:*

* Science or math related Bachelor or advanced degree.

* Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills preferably demonstrated in a pharma related environment.

* Entrepreneurial mindset to impact leadership and high emotional intelligence

* Experience advising senior level executives, strong coaching and problem–solving skills

* Strong ability to influence laterally and vertically

* High degree of creativity and innovation in developing new approaches, processes and methodologies

* Strong analytical expertise, financial modelling and forecasting skills

* Depth of understanding of Market Research techniques and approaches and how to apply to best effect to business questions.

* Strong written and verbal communication
