We are looking to add a Scrum Master to our technology team. You will be responsible for facilitating agile project teams and making progress towards achieving business strategies through delivery of projects, working with internal development, QA, product and business stakeholders. As the Scrum Master, you will strive to develop a high performing team while encouraging and protecting its self–organization and shielding it from distractions. You will take part in educating and focusing a team toward business–driven development. You will support team building and development by utilizing the abilities and skills of individuals and fostering feedback.

You will be responsible to keep the Scrum process running and keeping the team focused on delivering the sprint goals. Additionally, you will be responsible for removing any impediments to progress, facilitating meetings and working with the Product Owner to ensure the product backlog is in good shape and ready for the next sprint.

What you'll be doing:

* Communicating project goals and inspiring the team to achieve results

* Guiding the team on using Agile/Scrum practices and values, how to get the most out of self organisation, and coaching to increase levels of maturity

* Advising the team on removing impediments and facilitating work completion

* Building trust and a safe environment with an emphasis on problem solving

* Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information

* Providing support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example

* Facilitating and standardising agile planning, daily stand–up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, release planning, demos and other Agile ceremonies

* Assisting the Product Owner(s) with product backlog management and prioritisation, and the development and maintenance of effective user stories

* Assisting the Development Team with the effective planning and status tracking of sprints and delivery of projects; using reporting tools such as Jira, Burndown charts and Kanban boards

* Managing the budget and expenditure for small to medium projects

* Instilling software development best practice, applying the core principles of XP, UP, and feature– and test– driven development and advocating technical excellence

* Facilitating effective relationships between Taylor & Francis and 3rd party software development teams

* Driving the adoption and improvement in Agile best practice so that it is firmly embedded within the wider company

* Driving reward and recognition of team

* Assisting Development & Release Manager with planning and managing deployments: release notes, release roadmap etc
