We are looking for a Group Head of IT to lead the IT function.

This position is based from/at our Manchester office, with travel and home working, candidates from other locations are being considered.

As part of the executive leadership team, you will plan and execute IT projects to help achieve strategic business objectives, driving the team and wider business through exciting levels of growth.

Main responsibilities;

  • Day–to–day leadership of the Group's IT function, scheduling and managing the efforts of personnel in this function
  • Implementation of Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central across the whole of the Group
  • Consider how the BI requirements of the business can best be met and design/implement solutions using appropriate third–party applications
  • Ensure that the Group efficiently and cost–effectively meets the IT requirements of its trading partners and applicable government and regulatory agencies, including EDI systems and compliance arrangements for international trading
  • Manage all IT arrangements that arise in relation to acquisitions, including IT due diligence and post–acquisition integration
  • Ensure that all compliance and best practice arrangements are observed, including GDPR/ISO 27001 compliance, documenting and communicating IT/data and security policies.
  • Ensure adequate arrangements are in place for IT infrastructure, including networking, communications, IT security, backup and disaster recovery
  • Inspire/motivate and organise the existing IT teams
  • Establish/maintain comprehensive reporting metrics to ensure IT delivers value and update weekly on progress

Experience/competencies/education;

  • Degree level or other relevant education qualification
  • Broad experience in managing infrastructure and IT operations including knowledge of infrastructure planning and operations design, deployment, as well as system life cycle management
  • Several years' team management experience of leading diverse IT functions
  • Demonstrable experience of cloud–based solutions
  • Project management skills, including the ability to effectively deploy resources and manage multiple projects
  • Ideally have a solid web application development background
  • Knowledge of GDPR/ISO 27001 and other compliance regulations
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Business awareness and a hands–on management style
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to engage with non–technical stakeholders
