Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Services (SDASS) are looking for their next CEO. This is a rewarding and challenging role for an experienced senior charity leader. Please see the attached information pack for more on SDASS.Hours:  37 hours per weekMonday to Friday: 1 day per week from homeSalary: £53,000 – £55,000The SDASS CEO will:Provide inspirational leadership and development of SDASS in meeting the needs of people experiencing domestic abuse.Ensure Safeguarding and risk management is embedded into all processes and decision making.Be responsible for the strategic development and implementation of both business and financial strategies and plans to facilitate the delivery of the objectives of SDASS.Promote and support a positive and supportive working environment.Ensure the organisation is managed in an efficient and cost–effective manner consistent with the values of SDASS.Develop and maintain good and effective working relationships with key stakeholders including Swindon Borough Council and Police and Crime Commissioners Office and Wiltshire Police and all relevant statutory bodies and relevant organisations.Be responsible for the long–term strategy and implementation.To be aware of, respond to and inform Trustees of any National and local policy developments which may impact on SDASS services and adapt the services as relevantTo be responsible for the effectiveness of the organisation in accordance with SDASS's mission statement, aims and objectives, rules, policies and procedures.To provide inspirational leadership encouragement and motivation to the organisation.MANAGEMENTTo ensure SDASS has an appropriate management structure and management systems to enable it to fulfil its strategic objectives aims and objectives.To develop and maintain a working environment that attracts, retains and motivates excellent quality staff and volunteers.To ensure best practice employment policies and procedures are followed.To ensure that recruitment, management training and development of staff are directed towards achieving SDASS objectives.To manage and supervise designated members of the management and wider team.To ensure effective mechanisms for the development, review and implementation of SDASS policies.To identify appropriate methods for monitoring the performance of SDASS and to report back to Trustees on the performance indicators against the strategic, business and operational plans.FINANCIALTo act in accordance with SDASS financial regulations and ensure that expenditure is controlled in line with budgets as agreed by the Board.To work with the Accountant to ensure budgets are prepared and that systems are maintained for financial monitoring up to Audit standard.To ensure systems are in place for expenditure authorisation within defined budgets.Work with the Accountant to ensure the financial audit is managed in an appropriate manner and that all financial reports are made in a timely manner to the relevant statutory bodies including Charity Commission and Companies House.To ensure that financial policies and procedures are followed and that financial risks are identified and managed.FUNDRAISING To be responsible for the management and securing of appropriate funding through statutory charitable and voluntary streams to meet SDASS's Business Plan developments.CHARITY SHOPTo be responsible for the SDASS Charity Shop.To ensure that volunteers are recruited and engaged to support the goals of the shop.To ensure the Charity Shop has the appropriate structures in place to ensure it can thrive and deliver a source of unrestricted funds for SDASS.POLICY DEVELOPMENTTo identify gaps in service provision and enable development of new services to meet the aims of the charity.To ensure that relevant external policy information is monitored so that SDASS is resourced and informed.EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL RELATIONSTo be responsible for the public profile of SDASS and ensure positive and professional relationships are in place with agencies from the statutory, voluntary, community and private sector.To lead on Marketing and Communications within SDASS and externally using appropriate staff and agencies as required.To ensure there are effective mechanisms for the involvement of service users in the development and organisation of services.To establish SDASS as the lead specialist organisation in Swindon which represents the interests of service users experiencing domestic abuse and their families to other agencies in the development of effective local and national strategies. GOVERNANCETo have responsibility for the effective governance systems throughout SDASS including risk management, financial probity, audit and health and safety.To be the vice Chair of the Risk & Audit CommitteeTo ensure the Trustees are informed of any identifiable responsibilities and risks to enable the Board to fulfil its governance responsibilities.GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo provide management support as part of the management rota to staff working outside office hours and the SDASS out of hours telephone helpline when necessary.To undertake such other duties, training as maybe reasonably required, and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job.To have responsibility for maintaining personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job and SDASS by undertaking appropriate training and development activities.To ensure equality of opportunity both in service provision and employment the post may change and develop over time in response to new legislation, SDASS policies, organisational development and national policy.
