Company Description
Culina Group the market leading ambient and chilled food & drink 3PL specialist are recruiting for a Group Director of IT Strategy and Architecture.
This is a new role within the group to which the right candidate will have ownership of building and rolling out the IT Strategy for the business whilst developing a top architecture team and creating the architecture standards and principles.
The Director of IT Strategy and Architecture will lead innovation for the group and inspire, drive and control convergence across all business units.
Job Description
- Formulates, creates and owns IT strategy and strategic change plans aligned to business needs, and closely aligned with the Group CIO.
- Develops and owns the enterprise architecture and associated roadmaps and formalises/ drives enterprise architecture governance frameworks
- Evaluates, designs and delivers solutions centred on strategic reuse of building blocks, new technologies and reference architecture.
- Validates technology solutions architecture: new/changed capabilities
- Supports delivery of solutions (that are incorporated into a prioritised/integrated roadmap) and ensures a coherent and effective target architecture
- Develops integrated roadmap of change initiatives reflecting both business demands and priorities (in partnership with business units).
- Drives strategic planning and budgeting to ensure business and IT priorities are funded within the PMO.
- Drives and owns development/maintenance of a comprehensive enterprise architecture, representative of current, transitional and target states

Identifies/evaluates feasibility of new technologies that could be strategically important

Develops knowledge base of current operational information, systems & technology assets

Develops/owns roadmap outlining how existing technologies will be maintained, evolved and decommissioned and new technology introduced

Proactively reviews current portfolio of information, systems and technologies; identifies opportunities to exploit available innovations.

Establishes best practice for solution architecture/design, provides guidance/expertise to support solution architects to develop high level & detailed designs

Ensures Culina Group IT policies & standards for usage of all IT services exists and is maintained

Works closely with IT leadership team to ensure that IT team capabilities are developed to support the aspirational target architecture

Acts as a champion for technology innovation and leads efforts to co–ordinate and showcase innovation initiatives and potential
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience and success in senior leadership roles in Information Technology
- Degree in business administration or a technology–related field, or equivalent work or education related experience
- Substantial experience as an enterprise architect. Potentially gained project architect on major programs
- Good experience of IT Architecture
- Holder of architecture professional qualification (eg TOGAF /Zachman)
- Demonstrated experience of successfully applying industry frameworks such as TOGAF) to real business situations.
- Experience of development (and ensuring adherence to) architecture principles and standards
- Experience of establishing architecture standards across applications, platforms, security, data, infrastructure for customer facing web/ mobile applications & internal system applications
- Experience of successfully delivering large or complex technology programmes and projects through the full lifecycle
- Experience of aligning architecture support to agile/iterative development teams/functions in an effective way
- Strong organisation skills, often juggling multiple priorities, and the ability to command respect from the existing team is imperative
- Excellent communication skills (e.g. IT related concepts to both technical and non–technical audiences
- Experience of direct line management of architecture team
- Experience of creating extended "virtual" architecture team with no direct management authority
