Managing Director –Manufacturing Business – Sheffield – Salary Circa GBP100k

Clemence Rogers are currently working in partnership with our client in recruiting for a Managing Director to manage a Manufacturing Business based in Sheffield. The business offers a range of unique products using the latest in modern technology and production methods. You will be responsible for the performance of the company, achieving results for the board's overall strategy.

As the Managing Director you will be responsible for:

Reviewing and monitoring overall financials and sales, communicate manufacturing goals, objectives and reports to enable departments to be in line with and achieve desired results
Analysing overall budget requests to identify areas in which reductions/increases can be made, and allocate operating budget
Directing strategy towards the profitable growth and operation of the company
Developing strategic operating plans that reflect the longer–term objectives and priorities established by the board
Building and maintaining an effective management team
Assuming full accountability for the board for all company operations
Maintaining a thorough understanding of all areas of the manufacturing operation to ensure operational efficiency and economy
Maintaining ongoing awareness of market conditions and trends to ensure effective reaction to market changes
Plan, develop and implement activities in cooperation with departments and monitor and review weekly and monthly results by means of management meetings and reports
Putting in place adequate operational planning and financial control systems
Ensuring that the operating objectives and standards of performance are not only understood but owned by the management and other employees
Closely monitoring the operating and financial results against plans and budgets
Representing the company to major customers and professional associations
As the Managing Director you have the following experience:

Previous Managing Director or Operations Director experience essential
Manufacturing background desired
Managerial experience in positions with increasing responsibilities required
Strong communication and interaction skills required
Effective and competent management, leadership and organisational skills required
Good at planning and organising
Strong at communicating
The courage to make difficult decisions when required
