A rare opportunity has come up to join this leading telecommunications business as Senior Counsel, Consumer Regulatory.
Reporting into the Head of Legal, this senior role will have responsibility for regulatory issues impacting the industry and will deliver advice on legislation and regulation to the Business focusing on customer and consumer issues.
This is a critical role handling a range of matters, not limited to, providing counsel to the business on regulatory compliance, responding to information requests, managing contentious matters arising out of investigations, working with external providers and advisors on regulatory matters, working with Ofcom on investigations and incident reporting, and drafting responses to consultations from the Government, Ofcom, and other regulators. There will also be scope to advise on the regulatory implications of new products and services.
This exciting position would suit a fully qualified UK solicitor or Commonwealth lawyer that has trained at a well-regarded law firm. In-house experience from a telecommunications or communications company or Ofcom would be ideal along with knowledge of the UK and EU regulatory framework for telecommunications. This role could also suit a competition lawyer with strong regulatory nous, eager to make their first move in-house into a highly visible and key role.
