We are looking for an ex Navy senior person to utilise their knowledge of naval / maritime communication systems in a Business Development Manager role. Your navy / maritime domain knowledge and ability to network is the key to success with this exciting opportunity.
This role involves extensive interaction with customers and stakeholders in order to develop strong relationships, credibility regarding product capability and go on to secure annual order intake and win new business.
Key responsibilities of the Business Development Manager:
* Secure order intake to meet forecast targets for current and future years by managing and delivering a portfolio of campaigns and sales opportunities
* Present detailed prospects in order to secure pursuit, bid and resourcing approvals
* Effectively lead the campaign team through to contract award
* Develop and maintain relationships with customers, end users and industrial partners
Key criteria for the Business Development Manager:
* An in–depth understanding of Maritime systems
* Have an existing and relevant network within the key customer stakeholder community in the UK and overseas
* Commercially and financially aware
* A demonstrable record of domain knowledge such as surface or subsurface communications equipment / systems
* Ability to write compelling marketing content and proposals
* Ability to lead a team to successfully deliver quality output during high pressure bid and customer response activity
