The operations director will oversee all operational aspects of company strategy, help set strategic goals and will be responsible for the flow of operations information to the chief executive and the board. This key role is with a highly successful, well established, private equity backed manufacturer of precision engineered components focused primarily on the aerospace and power generation sectors. It has a strong pipeline of current and future business with the primary site due for relocation to a new facility in the immediate future. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Operations Director will have the autonomy and full responsibility to devise the operational strategy and lead production, manufacturing engineering, and supply chain management to improve all processes in the key areas of delivery, capacity planning, and CI. The Operations Director will act as the company's lead on all issues relating to operational functions and keep abreast of latest developments to ensure that the company maintains its competitive position.

The role will appeal to a world class professional experienced in Lean manufacturing, business transformation and the further development of a continuous improvement culture through mentoring and coaching. The client is on–track to maintaining its year–on–year growth through continued investment in its already highly advanced manufacturing facilities and the maintenance of its commercially competitive approach in the marketplace. A talented individual, with integrity and well–honed leadership skills, to manage this growth is sought to work with the very capable senior team.

The successful person will be a high achiever academically, having demonstratable achievements in operations within a world class production environment and be able to demonstrate a passion for precision engineered, complex products with small batch production. Preferably with some experience of the aerospace sector, we are searching for a driven and visible Operations Director, who can drive cultural change, within a manufacturing business.

With a career built in recognised world–class manufacturing environments where the use of best–practice Lean tools and techniques is the norm, you will have proven capability in introducing new initiatives to improve processes, productivity, and production KPIs. Importantly you will also have the potential to manage the challenges of growth and factory relocation presented by this opportunity.

You will have vision and be results focused with the gravitas to work closely with the Board of Directors and experience of working in a private equity culture would also be beneficial.
