Here at Wickes we are looking to recruit a Business Analyst to ensure data governance and data integrity with 'one version of the truth' across the data lake. To support the development of the Data Lake ensuring that the business requirements are communicated clearly and are met.
Key Accountabilities:
Ensure governance and integrity across the Data Lake, including Master Data management, and ensuring 'one version of the truth'
Ensure data security across the data lake – the right users have access to the right data
Support the development of the Data Lake, collaborating with relevant stakeholders and Data Analysts to ensure that business needs are met.
Ensure that controls & measures are in place to record data issues from source systems to the Data Lake (control framework) . IT will own and implement the control framework, but this role plays an integral part in maintaining, updating and supporting the control framework.
Ownership of Data tables management, creating the tables required by the business to create meaningful MI reporting as well as managing the business rules and logic in the data lake.
Create and amend company reporting and support the 'spokes' of super users around the business to ensure they are able to provide insightful reporting . Ensuring SLAs (e.g. report timeliness) and quality standards (e.g. report accuracy and format) are met.
Maintain robust procedures and processes are in place to ensure team best practice and high–quality outputs
Ownership of BI related communications to the business (e.g. new data, new reports etc)
Leading and developing junior analyst
What are we looking for:
Relevant professional or industry training includingMaster Data Management, SQL, Data Analysis.
5+yrs BI / data experience
Expert with BI Tools
Strong documentation skills and ability to translate IT into layman's terms
Functional and technical understanding and competence in the Google reporting and data warehouse architecture.
Creating functional and technical specifications and diagrams.
Confident communicator capable of owning projects E2E with strong acumen for business analysis and user engagement
Confident managing and coaching ability of one or more team members
Understanding of data integrity, data quality issues, and end–to–end data flows
experience using cloud data warehouse technologies and are confident working with large datasets (e.g. BigQuery)
Experience in the management, capture, definition, development, agreement, delivery, and documentation of user information requirements within a maintainable and supportable information environment.
