Context

Are you passionate about air quality and climate change and have experience working at a senior level? If so, this role could be for you! The post is to lead on air quality and implement and review our Air Quality Action Plan/ Climate Change Agenda in Havering. This involves project management, excellent IT skills, high level written and verbal communication skills, experience of working with elected Members and Senior managers is essential, along with extensive knowledge of air quality and climate change. You will also be a confident at presenting information to a wide variety of audiences either via MS Teams or in person. The role is based remotely working from home, but some site visits and meetings will be done face to face. You will work with a variety of stakeholders such as the GLA, internal Havering departments, other Local Authorities schools and businesses.

Main Purpose of the Job/Key Objectives:

To manage and lead on a defined Programme of multiple Projects to ensure the delivery of a high–quality customer focussed outcomes within a performance management regime.

To ensure the programme/project(s) operates in a legally compliant, effective, efficient and collaborative manner creating positive outcomes and continual service improvement.

To ensure robust programme and project management for the service including contractor and contract management to support this.

To lead on the technical area/s covered by the defined Programme of Projects for the Council.

Experience

1. Experience of successfully leading and managing Programmes/Projects.

2. Experience of effectively working with elected Members, business partners, external

agencies, the private sector and other key stakeholders.

3. Experience of leading the delivery of programmes and projects from inception to completion.

4. Experience of the use of ICT, the MS Windows operating system, MS Word, MS Excel, MS

Project, MS PowerPoint, GIS, Instant Messaging and APPs and tools for mobile working.

5. Experience of financial planning and budgetary control
