Reporting to the Board and leading the senior team, you will manage the organisation's day to day business activities and develop and implement effective business strategies and programmes. Demonstrating an entrepreneurial spirit and vision, you will motivate and inspire both senior leadership and the wider company teams to deliver the Board's business growth and profitability aspirations.

Managing Director Responsibilities:

• Deliver the business plan (budget), ensuring all agreed projects and actions are successfully implemented.
• Lead, challenge and develop the SLT.
• Ensure a positive productive culture across the business.
• Own and drive the vision and strategy (which will be developed with the Shareholders).
• Be the 'linkage' between the SLT and Board.
• Strive to ensure that the business is legally compliant in all areas; raising awareness of any perceived shortfall, mitigating the risk in non–compliance, putting plans in place to recover.
• Deliver growth and profitability targets.
• Ensure excellent customer satisfaction, including senior level client engagement as needed.
• Budgeting, resourcing (people and supply chain), and managing operational costs.
• Formulate and implement company policies in agreement with the Board.
• Deliver day to day operations.
• Motivate and develop our people.
• Deliver and demonstrate measured continuous process improvement.

Managing Director Requirements:

• Powerful entrepreneurial spirit
• Experience in a leadership role in a growing organisation, with an annual revenue of GBP50m+.
• Previous European/global experience would be highly desirable
• A positive leader, highly personable with excellent communication skills and an ability to engage and motivate others at all levels of the company.
• Excellent commercial acumen
• Financially astute
• Sound budgeting skills.
• Proactive, analytical and a good problem solver
• Strong work ethic, highly organised and computer literate
•Operational/engineering experience beneficial
• Degree Level/ NVQ Level 4/5
• 5 years+ demonstrable experience of consistently and successfully delivering the skills, key roles and responsibilities listed above.
