Interim Workplace Design Manager

Robertson Bell are pleased to be working with a growing, commercial focused organisation, to recruit an Interim Workplace Design Manager, on an initial 6–month contract with strong potential to be extended beyond this point. Whilst the role is predominately working remotely, occasional travel to their offices based nationally will be required.

As the Interim Workplace Design Manager, you will be responsible for meeting with clients to interpret the design guide, employer requirements and specialist requirements into a brief to Design Developers and Partners to produce for each RIBA stage.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Developing each projects Employer requirements.
• Interpreting Design Guide including any specialist client requirements into briefing materials for designers to use at Cat A and Cat B RIBA stages.
• Provide advice and assurance on designs and specifications and engaging the client effectively on project procurement processes.
• Lead on providing detailed briefings, options analysis and information on design for stakeholders.
• Monitor and report on overall design progress at agreed points throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as a main point of contact for designers, contractors, partners and their supply chains.

The successful candidate will:

• Hold a membership to the RIBA and have several years experience working on the delivery, design and design management of large office buildings.
• Have knowledge and understanding of buildings, technical specifications, workspace design and procurement.
• Be experience in managing effective governance controls in a complex business environment.

Due to the nature of this work, our client requires the successful candidate to already hold SC or DV clearance OR be willing to go through SC clearance which for a new application can take several months.

Please note this role has been deemed to fall inside of IR35 and will be paid through an umbrella company.
