Group Financial Controller

My exclusive client has been recently formed with the financial backing of a successful, serial investor and is headed by a highly experience CEO, with significant care credentials within the Health and Care sector.

The investor has invested in a number of businesses locally, including a similar care business, and a more established care business, and the CEO and FD have been bought in to grow the start up, and improve the performance of the other businesses, with the aim of integrating them into the group.

Job Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of a new Group Financial Controller to improve and expand the control process across all the businesses, to provide an appropriate financial control environment, facilitating compliance and the production of accurate management information to support decision making.Reporting into the FD and overseeing a small team of 4, the Group Financial Controller will:

• Review existing processes and disparate IT systems;
• Establish, simplified and efficient working practices using the existing IT systems;
• Build in natural control points with a seamless integration with the wider business;
• Document processes and create a structured working environment;
• Play an active role in the implementation of a new ERP system;
• Maintain and ensure compliance with accounting polices;
• Identify and mitigate against finance risks;
• Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded and reported;
• Manage Daily / Monthly cash flow;
• Ensure compliance with banking covenants including monthly calculations and covenant certificate preparation;
• Take responsibility for weekly and monthly Payrolls for all businesses, paying staff, HMRC compliance and associated reconciliations;
• Reduce outstanding Debtors to target levels;
• Manage a small finance team including AR, AP and Payroll;
• Manage the finance systems, expenses and banking systems;
• Liaise with third parties and advisors including banks, suppliers and customers;
• Provide accurate and timely management information;
• Responsible for ensuring balance sheets are reconciled monthly;
• Business partnering within each individual business;
• Support the businesses in other matters such as insurance, pension and legal;
• Develop budgets and rolling forecasts;
• Preparation of annual statutory accounts and liaison with external accountants;
• Preparation of tax computations and liaison with external advisors

The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate for the Group Financial Controller will be

• Fully Qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with experience in a similar financial controller role
• A strong manager with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
• Honest and reliable with excellent attention to detail
• An excellent problem solver and a critical thinker
• Able to implement financial controls across the business and a track record of doing so successfully
• A structured and methodical self-starter
• Hands on and willing to support and develop

What's on Offer
Basic salary of up to GBP70K depending on experience.
