The Role:
The successful candidates will have the ability to operate at a level that provides a strategic view across this complex delivery chain combined with the drive and determination to absorb a significant amount of regulatory, commercial and business process information. They will be an effective risk manager and have a sound understanding of supply chain management. High volume asset tracking experience gained in a similar B2B environment will be necessary. Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail is absolutely essential as is the ability to shape and evolve the logistics function across the DCC landscape.
The Asset Supply Chain team will be accountable for the end to end management of the key assets, including physical and logical components, required to rollout SMETS2 smart metering to the UK population.
Responsible for the analysis of complex problem cases, as well as develop actions or recommendations to assure sustainable elimination and avoidance.
Key responsibilities
Communications Hubs
Accountable for the meeting/exceeding of DCC Licence obligations relating to the performance of logistic functions
Responsible for building the strategic delivery model that will effectively underpin and assure DCC's licence obligations
Responsible Customer demand forecasting and supply chain assurance for all Communications Hubs
Responsible for driving the behaviour and managing risks associated with DCC Suppliers
Responsible for Lifecycle Tracking (Forecasting > Ordering > Manufacture > Transit > Delivery > Stock Holding > Install)
Responsible for effective stakeholder management, including senior BEIS, Secas and industry leaders
Ability to effectively manage customers and become trusted council
To collaborate with other DCC teams to assure the quality of delivered product and to drive continuous performance improvements that drive efficiency and quality
Accountable for the effective delivery of performance updates to key stakeholders, including the management of remediation plans where necessary
Accountable for the overall maturity of the function, demonstrating year on year performance improvements aligned to our licence obligations
Responsible for ensuring supporting tools are effective and aligned to requirements, including the ownership of Policy & Processes
Accountable for the management and mitigation of key risks
Skills required: Finance; Risk Assessment; Operational Background; Supplier management
2. Firmware
Accountable for the performance of Firmware once issued to customers
Responsible for the management and performance of Firmware releases (OTA – "Over the air")
Responsible for the tracking, communication and stakeholder engagement of future planned F/W releases
Accountable for the control of hardware changes
Accountable for the management and mitigation of key risks
Responsible for the management and prioritisation of defects, working with other DCC teams
Responsible for the timely introduction of defect fixes
Skills required: Commercial awareness; release management/deployment; software deployment; Operational Background
3. Security Certificates
Accountable for assuring the availability and suitability of security certificates
Accountable for certificate release process (ceremonies)
Responsible for demand management of all certificates
Accountable for certificate management strategy, policy and process
Responsible for assuring, monitoring and reporting of certificate licence obligations
Accountable for the management and mitigation of key risks
Skills required: Commercial awareness; license management; Operational
