Our Opportunity

In the role of GraduateSoftware Developer, you will support in the delivery of the software test strategy on a wide range of quality assurance projects across traditional, web, and database driven applications, for our products, services and internal systems.

Responsibilities of our Graduate Software Developer:

  • Supporting a variety of bespoke applications including web and desktop applications.
  • Developing new applications and solutions in response to business needs.
  • Working closely with other team members to ensure development is on spec and functional.
  • Using source control to ensure all projects and their code bases are kept up to date and available.
  • Attending stand–ups and regular code reviews.
  • Follow defined department processes and conventions.

Key Challenges

  • Providing stable and maintainable software solutions within a realistic deadline.
  • Understanding and working within the bounds of existing limitations.
  • Continuous improvements and continuous deployment without impacting existing products.

The Skills & Experience were looking for in our Graduate Software Developer:

Essential Skills:

  • Experience and understanding of software design and OOP
  • Experience with .Net as well as web development technologies such as PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Experience or knowledge of normalized databases such as MySQL or MSSQL.
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Good punctuality.

Desirable (but not essential) Experience with:

  • Source control systems such as VSTS (or TFS)
  • A ticket/issue management application such as Jira
  • Continuous integration and deployment
  • Agile based working environment
