Senior Financial Controller

currently looking to appoint a Senior Financial Controller to step into this newly created role. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new team in Financial Control. The client has grown in size and complexity over recent years and as the Bank continues to expand, they need to ensure that Financial Control is fit for purpose. This is a hands–on role which will provide a deep insight into the practical management of Finance and change how we operate.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month end Flash results process
• Manage Finance MI team (onshore and offshore)
• Implement and oversee presentation of monthly Balance Sheet Analytics process
• Manage month end IFRS9 process
• Support all finance change initiatives
• Support Deputy CFO and Head of Financial Control with cost saving tracking
• Technical expert for all non–Treasury related accounting paper, ad–hoc (acquisitions / disposals and consolidation) and BAU (audit committee)
• Auditor liaison – endure auditors have all management supplied documents they require on time, resolve any Management letter points raised, remediate any SUAD items and assist in reviewing of accounts prior to publication.
• Risk – Ops and Conduct Risk reporting coordination. Controls testing and Data governance reporting.
• Progress continued offshoring of activities so onshore team can concentrate on 'value add' tasks.
• Ad Hoc support to the wider Financial Control team
• People Management (3 onshore & 4 offshore) and Training.

The Person

• ACA/ACCA qualified within a minimum of 3–5 years post qualified experience
• Previous experience of working within banking will be highly advantageous
• Able to demonstrate previous change experience is highly desirable
• Able to demonstrate knowledge of IFRS9
• Able to demonstrate knowledge of accounting for acquisitions, disposals and consolidation accounting.
