Role - Senior Legal Counsel:
To support the business on a wide range of commercial legal issues, the General Counsel seeks to recruit an experienced commercial solicitor as one of two direct legal reports. This is a newly created role with a significant level of responsibility and autonomy.
Sitting below the General Counsel, the Senior Legal Counsel will handle general commercial / contractual matters across the entire business - from procuring raw materials and services, to manufacturing, distribution, sales and marketing matters, as well as governance and regulation. You should also expect to have involvement in IP/IT, data protection/GDPR, M&A, dispute resolution and other ad hoc legal advice, guidance and direction.
Requirements:
Individuals applying for this Senior Legal Counsel role must be established and experienced commercial lawyers. The position comes with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility as the GC is incredibly busy with their own duties. Applicants must therefore be effective operators who can quickly come up to speed and get the job done.
Applicants should have at least 7 years' PQE and will ideally have existing in-house experience; preferably gained in a manufacturing (or similar) setting. Training at a top national or international law firm is essential.
