We are recruiting an in house Commercial solicitor for our client a leading international multichannel retailer of sports,fashion and outdoor brands. Our client is part of the FTSE 100 and is based in Manchester.
Description
All members of the Legal Team are responsible for advising and supporting the Group on a full range of legal issues (excluding day-to-day employment and property matters). This will include a range of Commercial, Corporate and Regulatory work.
Examples include:
· Advising on, drafting, reviewing and negotiating a diverse range of commercial agreements (including licensing agreements, supplier agreements,
Sponsorship/influencer agreements - across sports, fashion and music, consumer facing terms and conditions, online/media campaigns and technology agreements);
· Assisting the Group M&A team on a diverse range of corporate transactional work, including acquisitions and joint ventures, in the UK and internationally;
· Advising the Group on various regulatory areas including data protection, consumer regulations and advertising standards regulations; and
· Maintaining and actively managing intellectual property portfolios and providing IP advice to the Group.
Profile
Solicitors from both private practice and in house backgrounds should apply for this role. The role will be a mix of office and homeworking.
· UK qualified solicitor - PQE experience is essential.
· Training and previous experience in commercial law within a respectable in-house role or law firm.
· The ability to work with all levels of the Group business (including the executive leadership team).
· The ability to manage international legal matters and to take ownership of key international territories (the role requires travelling to such territories as necessary - subject to COVID restrictions).
· Self-motivated, ambitious individual with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
· Experience in commercial contracts in media/entertainment/sports beneficial.
· Corporate/M&A knowledge/experience desirable.
· Prior in-house experience (especially in retail) beneficial but not required.
