We are seeking a Vice President of Strategy & Business Planning who loves business management and has a passion for marketing. The role sits within the EMEA Commercial Marketing team, and reports into the head of the function. This is a high–visibility role with frequent exposure to the leadership team.

The ideal candidate must possess excellent communication skills and be able to tailor complex messages to the appropriate audience collaboratively. They will provide strategic and direct management support, including financial, operational and project management, leadership of strategic initiatives, research, and writing for senior internal and external audiences. The successful candidate will build deep and collaborative relationships across multiple groups and teams and be a positive culture carrier for the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:
Business planning: Scope, plan, and execute special projects to drive projects through to completion, including organisational strategy, business management, budgeting, operations, technology and talent.

Strategic planning: Lead and facilitate the annual marketing planning process, organise team planning and strategy meetings; evaluate plans quarterly to ensure the team remains on track to complete strategic deliverables and activation plans.

Executive Support: Drive the development and coordination of executive presentations and updates. Craft C–level presentations, talking points and briefing memos for senior internal and client engagements . Organize reoccurring leadership meetings, communicating with participants on meeting goals and action items.

Culture & talent management: Define strategic resourcing requirements and manage the day to day talent management process in partnership with HR; sourcing, hiring and onboarding talent. Lead key talent and culture initiatives to actively support and foster a diverse and inclusive workplace aligned with BlackRock's principles, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity strategy. Lead initiatives that target development areas from the employee opinion survey. Be a culture carrier and be responsible for running team building events and charity days.

Budget management & planning: Own the EMEA Commercial Marketing budget process in close partnership with the Global EII Marketing COO and EMEA Marketing COO. Plan and align the budget across key strategic initiatives for effective and centralised budget control; forecasting, controlling and evaluating the financial budgets and team resources.

Agency / vendor strategic & operational management: Evaluate and manage the agency roster and model to maximise relationships. Determine appropriate agency structure, optimise strategic and operational governance, fiscal accountability, ways of working, service capabilities and talent with our core agency partners. Manage regional relationship performance and feedback, check in on progress on action plans and prioritisation of scoped services and deliverables. Responsible for negotiating scopes of work, managing agency retainers and cost run rate analysis.

Research + brand measurement: Manage the EMEA Commercial Marketing research and measurement programme. Define the annual research strategy and drive client behavioural/attitudinal research and campaign effectiveness workstreams across different product/service offerings. Partner with EMEA & Global Marketing teams, creative agency, and research partners to conduct brand health studies, campaign/product insight gathering, competitor analysis, creative testing and EMEA audience persona research.

Awards programme: Partner with PR and business partners to facilitate regional award submissions.

Workflow management: Define workflows and processes for cross team ways of working and define / optimise rules of engagement between global, regional, and local teams . Enhance operating systems to strengthen processes and implement new platforms/technologies, to drive greater efficiencies at scale.

Knowledge & Experience:
Experience: 8+ years in a directly relevant field (e.g. asset management, management consultancy), preferably with an emphasis in business management and / or marketing. R egional experience within a global company required.
Strategic projects : Proven track record of leading strategic initiatives that are aligned to functional priorities and have commercial impact.

Research programs : Experience conducting research projects to deliver insight driven strategies.

Agency / vendor management : Proven track record of strategic agency + vendor management, including scope of work negotiating skills; strong knowledge of creative and media workflows for cross functional projects with agencies; has been the first line of defense/escalation point with external agency partners.

Executive communication: Strong experience producing management–level quality presentations, business memos and exhibits utilizing data. Strong proficiency and demonstrated experience working in all Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Process management: Efficiently manage project processes, navigate trade–offs and effectively manage own and other's time. Ideally w orked in a company that has experienced rapid growth and knows how to scale operational processes.

Budget management : Proficient in budget management processes, evaluating performance and forecasting, including cost run rate analysis commentary. Knowledge of COUPA would be good.
Project management: Excellent "end to end" project management skills with ability to drive projects from inception to execution.
