Our retained client, a market leading SME, has been using its innovative nature and adaptability to disrupt its field for over 10 years. Encompassing a high-profile client base, its overarching mission is to continue to operate as the catalyst to fuelling economic growth through its technology enabled products.

Committed to driving success the business has recorded profitable year on year growth and is forecasting strong revenue expectations for 2022. Covid has enabled the business, through its agility and speed of execution, to create a whole new revenue avenue. Supported by key clients across the world, this success will lead to a roll out across other geographies. This evidences a clear opportunity to further disrupt the status quo within its sector.

The market and scalability of the business has led to the business considering investment from Private Equity to execute its growth strategies. A vital component of this success will be the appointment of a Finance Director to operate as a key member of the Board and build out the financial insight, data room and value-add reporting to support external investment. This role will also add immense value in supporting the CEO and the wider Board to positively drive revenue, profitability and outcomes.

Becoming established as a trusted advisor to the Board and support the CEO in attracting external investment, you will take full accountability for the financial and management reporting, creating a value-add function and bringing the team, systems and processes in-line with Private Equity standards.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a track record of success facilitating a scale-up growth strategy in a sector aligned SME e.g. project / sales led organisations; or have operated within a high growth VC or PE backed environment with tangible achievement in creating and maximising business value. You must demonstrate a ‘hands on’ approach necessary in an SME and excellent interpersonal skills having successfully managed internal and external stakeholders and presented information at Board level. You must also have managed and developed small finance functions to deliver PE quality and insightful MI.

In return this represents a fantastic opportunity to join the Board of a highly ambitious business at a critical point in its journey, as it pivots on imminent external investment and sets its sights on further disrupting its sector.

In this newly created position, you will have a high degree of autonomy and will be crucial to executing and exceeding the objectives of the organisation. The role will also be aligned to the growth journey through equity participation.
