Junior HR Business Partner: Permanent: Darwen based: Paying up to GBP38,000 (DOE) + Benefits
Morson are thrilled to be exclusively supporting our manufacturing client in their search for a proficient Junior HR Business Partner to join their team on a permanent basis. Reporting into the HR Director, the Junior HR Business Partner will join a small and collaborative team being responsible for providing HR support and advice to managers and employees at all levels, managing all operational HR activity from handling employee relations issues, through to recruitment and selection, training and development and supporting on change management initiatives to improve leadership capability and improve employee engagement.
The Junior HR Business Partner will also be responsible for the following:
Identifying and helping find early resolution to employee related matters e.g., identify any performance and/or capability issues at early stages
Holding disciplinary and grievance investigations/hearings and attending absence reviews, escalating complex issues to the HRBP/HRD
Coaching and advising Managers in relation to all areas of employment legislation, best practise, terms and conditions and policies and procedures to maximise departmental employee performance and build leadership capability
Managing the recruitment and onboarding process from issuing contracts, processing new starters/leavers on the system processing, setting up training folders and conducting exit interviews.
Keeping track of HR metrics, updating monthly HR KPIs e.g., absence, headcount, turnover and providing data/MI reports for decision making purposes
Coordinating the Apprentice Programme, liaising with colleges to gain interest and managing all apprentice levy elements.
Leading the process on organisational restructures as required e.g., holding 1–1s.
Supporting on the update of all HR policy and procedures
Attendance at work meetings such as CEO Breakfast meetings, work council etc.
Supporting the creation of a multi skilled operator training programme.
Supporting the HR Director in the implementation of a UK HR Strategy
Supporting Payroll advisor on the payroll, HR system and time & attendance system and working with Value Stream Managers to ensure they complete their teams T&S.
Keeping abreast of changing business needs, the developments within the wider HR and employment law arenas and providing suggestions to contribute to continuous improvement initiativesTo succeed in this role, strong generalist HR experience is required, ideally gained from within a fast–paced manufacturing environment. The Junior HR Business Partner will need to be strong yet approachable in character, not afraid to challenge and use their engagement and influencing skills to achieve the best outcome, as well as having the below skills/attributes:
Experience of dealing with complex projects/discipline and grievance case management and a passion for employee relations.
High competence in using Excel with the ability to compile HR KPIs and undertake detailed analysis i.e., V–look ups, pivot tables and graphs.
Previous experience of leading the absence management process.
Demonstrable experience of organisational restructures and leading consultations.
Experience of supporting managers in changing terms & conditions e.g., shift changes
Up to date knowledge of employment legislation and best practice HR policies and procedures.
Broad understanding of reward and talent management processes and principles
