This leading business transformation consultancy group has been around for almost ten years and is well embedded in the UK manufacturing and engineering community with a wealth of successful projects across; Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Nuclear, Defence and the Renewable sectors to name but a few.

With a mindset of growth and ongoing development, they have now branched out to support companies in Offshore Wind, NHS supply chain and Modular Housing sectors. Their approach has received several national awards and independent recognition and provides the basis for ambitious growth for the business that capitalises on their success. To shape and support this growth requires the appointment of an experienced Business Development Manager who can think creatively, identify and critically analyse opportunities, shape and influence business concepts and manage the execution of proposals.

Working across all of the sector verticals but with a strong focus on the target market areas above, the BDM will be involved in the sourcing and securing of new clients and contracts across the range of vertical and industry specialisms and the role will involve the following activities;

Reporting to the CEO the role will;

support the development of the overall business strategy by research, analysis and scenario planning of;
Potential new markets and/or products for new business opportunities
Government funded opportunities (Nationally, Regionally, locally)
Strategic partner synergies support discussions/negotiations with potential funders and customers (public and private funding)
Development and preparation of bid proposals
Driving and delivering strategic business development campaign plans
Visiting and engaging with potential clients across the target sectors to develop relationships and secure new business opportunities

The role has an emphasis towards analysis, shaping and influencing the direction of new business, building on a successful base to secure the longer term growth of the company, with the opportunity to engage directly with potentially funders and clients.

The ideal candidate will have a good analytical skills, used to inform, shape and influence new business approaches, both in a classical commercial environment but importantly in the world of public funding. An appreciation of the challenges faced by manufacturing companies to grow is advantageous in order to quickly become fluent at the approach and value proposition this business transformation consultancy has on its end clients.
