Responsibilities of the Associate Legal Counsel
- Assisting the Regional Division Counsel to draft, revise and negotiate software licence agreements, SaaS agreements, sale agreements, services and maintenance agreements, framework agreements, reseller/partnership/distribution agreements, sub-contractor agreements, non-disclosure agreements and other agreements related to the provision of software and services.
- Assisting with reviewing and advising on tender documents, project proposals and statements of work, advising project teams on the interpretation of contracts, and resolving disputes.
- Assisting with the updating of standard terms and conditions and other templates and maintaining document management systems.
- Assisting the Regional Division Counsel to develop and implement legal and compliance training for stakeholders.
- Ensuring customer contracts comply with corporate and divisional policies and maintaining acceptable risk standards.
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, vendors, and/or service providers to expedite contract negotiations.
- Staying up to date with legal and industry developments.
- Assisting with, and engaging with external counsel on, corporate, employment and property matters for regional entities.
- Assisting with maintenance and renewals of company insurance.
- Qualified solicitor/attorney specialising in commercial law (preferably under the laws of England and Wales) with 2-4 years post qualification experience. However, applications from any level of post qualification experience will be considered.
- Strong in-house commercial experience within the technology industry.
- Strong written and oral skills in English.
- Demonstrated experience in interpreting complex regional and global contracts.
- Ability to produce consistently high-quality work with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and administration skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.
- Strong PC skills, including MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at various levels, including sales representatives, project and support managers, suppliers and senior management.
- Capable of working efficiently under pressure.
- Commercial, solution-oriented, enthusiastic and driven.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
