Business Analyst - Front Office

The Role

We are seeking a Business Analyst to work in our Discretionary Trading Solutions Team. This team focuses on the discovery, interpretation and implementation of Front Office technologies required by Portfolio Managers and trading teams globally. The team is responsible for executing on the strategic roadmap for our internal discretionary trading stack, analyzing and prioritizing new feature requests to integrate them into the strategic roadmap. The team works closely with business development, the PM Solutions Group, the execution desk, technology, operations, risk and compliance, utilizing both inhouse and vendor technologies to deliver on investment needs.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a front office focused team that is mandated to drive forward the growth of our trading businesses. The Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in progressing new initiatives by leading the process to define the business requirements for technology projects to deliver new capabilities for our trading teams as well as enhance current features and functionality.

What you'll bring

What you need:

• Experience working at a buy side or sell side firm in a Business Analyst capacity
• Proven knowledge with Order/Execution/Portfolio/Risk Management solutions
• Ability to conduct requirements gathering, gap analysis, and formulate effective solutions
• Ability to articulate written business specifications and define functional requirements for IT development teams
• Produce summary reports on the status and progress of ongoing projects
• Experience of working with development teams on post–implementation testing
• Strong attention to detail and an analytical mind
• Solid understanding of the product lifecycle
• Appreciation of risk, trading, compliance, accounting, financing and clearing processes
• Good technical knowledge of financial instruments
• Strong interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders; team–first mentality
• Ability to keep projects on track, influence others and manage resources from various different teams
• Strong ownership and a track record of delivering results, with a proven ability to prioritize
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strategic thinking and creative problem solving

We'd love if you had:

• A strong "systems thinking" mindset and the ability to communicate the big picture
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field
• Experience of both Equities and Fixed Income products
• Experience of Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence and Trello)
• Familiarity with MiFID II
