In-house Associate Director - Medical Communications

My client is a biopharmaceutical company that has been established in 2003. It has a significant corporate presence in Palo Alto, CA, Philadelphia, PA and Oxford, England, with manufacturing facilities in Ireland and Italy.

They have a diverse portfolio of marketed medicines and novel product candidates, from early– to late–stage development, in neuroscience and oncology.

They are now looking for an Associate Director to join their Medical Communications team, where your main responsibility will be leading publication planning teams in assigned therapeutic area(s) along with the development and implementation of a comprehensive publication plan. Strategic publication planning is conducted in collaboration with the medical communication lead for the therapeutic area and the therapeutic area medical director.

This is an exciting role working with cannabinoid–based medicines.

Ideally, you are based in London, Oxford, or Cambridge. You will be expected to come to the office once a week.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Advanced scientific degree (Doctorate degree preferred: PhD, PharmD, or MD).
• Minimum of 5 years of industry experience with at least 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical medical communications/publications, medical writing, or other medical affairs scientific functions, or at a medical communications agency as a medical director and/or writer. Publications leader experience within the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
• Prior epilepsy and multiple sclerosis experience preferred.
