An excellent career opportunity for a qualified Barrister, at least 2 years' Call, to join a team working as a Barrister in house a high quality law firm, based in their London office, to work on prosecution advocacy as part of a highly ranked team..

The Firm
A leading UK law firm providing legal services to a range of sectors such as; healthcare, social care, education and charities in both the public and private sector.

The Role
The Barrister role will be working, in house, as part of a professional discipline team acting for a number of significant number of regulatory bodies. Advocacy typically involves interim and substantive hearings. This includes shorter more straightforward hearings as well as more complex cases such as those involving dishonesty and fraud, sexual misconduct and serious instances of deficient professional performance. Hearings are usually contested and in the majority of cases the respondents are represented, most often by counsel. It is likely that there will also be opportunities to appear in the High Court and the First Tier Tribunal on appeals from decisions of the regulators. Depending on experience, there are likely to be other advocacy opportunities arising from other aspects of the department's work.

The Candidate
A qualified Barrister with, 2+ years' Call, experience in prosecution and, ideally, with professional discipline experience.
Whilst previous experience in the field of regulation and professional discipline is welcome, it is not essential and applications from all relevant disciplines will be considered. This is a great opportunity to join a friendly, dynamic and expanding team in a market leading firm with the opportunity to influence and shape the ways the dispute advocacy service evolves moving forwards.
