We are looking for an experienced Talent Acquisition professional with a passion for equality, diversity and inclusion, to join our Talent and Experience department.

It's an exciting time to join CRUK as we build the leadership team for our HR department. In this Head position, you will lead the Talent Acquisition agenda and team, delivering the required pipeline of talent to meet CRUK's goals, and ensuring that the charity has a strong employer brand and external reputation. You will ensure that the CRUK Talent Acquisition approach follows an effective and inclusive model, that benchmarks well externally on key cost and service measures for permanent, non–permanent staff and contingent workers.

What will I be doing?

Make an impact every day by:

  • Leading the strategy for delivering a first–class, quality recruitment service for both internal and external recruitment
  • Actively building the CRUK employer brand in the market, building awareness and understanding with target audiences where future hires will be sourced from.
  • Overseeing the continuous development of hiring manager and recruiter capability to deliver best practice hiring methods and ensure a positive candidate experience
  • Leading, developing and coaching the Talent Acquisition team, ensuring that they are highly engaged, commercially focussed business partners, proactively anticipating and solving resourcing challenges
  • Partnering with the central Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) team to ensure people elements of the EDI strategy are delivered and that equality, equity and inclusion is embedded across the talent acquisition agenda.

This role is accountable for a team of 13 people, and a budget of GBP1m.

What skills are we looking for?

We're looking for a recruitment expert who has previously managed both a team and a large budget. You'll be incredibly passionate about equality, diversity and inclusion, and will have experience in recruitment related EDI activity, allowing you to ensure that CRUK does everything in its power to commit to a fair and transparent hiring process.

In addition, you will have

  • Experience of leading an in–house or RPO talent acquisition team
  • Experience of operational team management with a track record of planning and delivering against recruitment forecast and budget
  • Experience of strategic resourcing, including direct sourcing, talent initiatives and progressive selection techniques– to support implementation of best practice tools and processes in terms of attrition, assessment and selection
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior level, with willingness to challenge the status quo and gain buy–in to new different/ways of thinking

What will I gain?

Without you we wouldn't be able to achieve our aim of seeing 3 in 4 people survive cancer by 2034. So, we want to reward you in as many ways as possible. Our benefits package includes discounts on anything from travel to technology, generous holiday allowance, gym membership, and much more. We want to ensure that you have the best work/life balance possible, so we actively encourage a flexible working culture for all our roles wherever possible.

For most of our office–based roles you'll only be required to work from a specific location for 1 or 2 days a week on average. You'll also be able to access a wide range of learning and development opportunities. And ultimately, you'll know that you'll be changing lives through your work.

If you're as ambitious as we are, join our collective force and enjoy an excellent career, as we save lives and add years.
