An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Resource Project Manager required to work for top 10 FS Professional services firm, within their Audit team.

Duties include:

  • Acquire a detailed understanding of the annual budget/growth plans for FS and planned headcount required to support these. This will require supporting the lead partner in responsibility for tracking and monitoring the key headcount KPI's
  • Closely engage and challenge the allocation of resources by sector to project work in order to ensure optimal use of staff against the agreed audit budgets and production budgets.
  • Build effective relationships with the FS Audit Managers, business support and Operations and Resourcing assistants to understand their needs in respect of resourcing for assignments.
  • Identify solutions to manage resourcing conflicts/clashes effectively, liaising with the relevant Managers in a timely manner.
  • Identify and introduce processes in order to maximise efficiencies in future resource planning across FS.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure that all operational movements are reflected in the resource model.
  • Work closely with the National Audit Resourcing Senior Manager to deliver embed strategic change and tools into the audit stream resourcing model.
  • Responsible for close monitoring of budget vs. actual hours/costs, revenue, recovery, headcount and wider operational excellence metrics such as utilisation, average rate per hour, Retain accuracy, missing timesheets and unstaffed engagement time.
  • Reporting into the FS Executive Team on resourcing challenges, headcount monitoring, best practice developments and strategic priorities.
  • Ownership of the monthly Resourcing dashboard at both FS and sector levels in order to provide an overview to FS Audit Sector Heads.
  • Lead and engage on a monthly basis with the FS Audit Manager Group and Operations and Resourcing Assistants group to highlight any gaps and areas for resolution; produce reports, present and interpret these on resource availability, resource requirements, TOIL and job appraisals, including other reports as requested.
  • Proactively liaise with FS Audit Sector Heads to understand new client opportunities pipeline and proactively engage with the partners/directors to understand proposed resource model, ensuring resource requirements are known in advance and can be met if the pursuit is won.
  • Work closely to support, coach and develop the Operations and Resourcing Assistants to provide mentoring support.


  • Identify best practice resourcing policies from across the firm and externally and support and delivery the adoption of such in FS.
  • Formal line management of one/two Operations and Resourcing Assistants.
  • Undertaking ad hoc project work at the request of the Head of FS Audit.
