All About Us

Currie & Brown is currently looking for a chartered building surveyor to head up building surveying service delivery within our Bristol office. The position will be at associate or associate director level depending upon experience, with a clear progressive path to a more senior position within our organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to join and lead our building surveying team who are an important part of our Bristol team and wider regional building surveying business. The role will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to further their career aspirations within our expanding team. We provide a range of building surveying services to public and private sector both locally and to support our wider UK business.

All About The Role

  • Managing our building surveying team, including service delivery, financial management and line management
  • Leading business development for the local team, identifying and responding to local leads, preparing technical submissions and fee proposals, and liaising with our regional head of building surveying
  • Delivering projects, commissions and professional assignments
  • Assuming a leading role in setting objectives and priorities, working as a proactive team player
  • Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for the successful completion of projects
  • Delivering all work outputs in an accurately and timely manner
  • Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting, negotiating and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships

All About You

  • BSc in building surveying or equivalent
  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)
  • A minimum of eight years' technical delivery experience gained within a construction consultancy
  • Significant exposure to, and good working relations with, private and public sector clients
  • IT skills (AutoCAD, NBS, MS Project, Outlook, Word, Excel and other bespoke software)
  • Well–developed skills in the areas of surveys, refurbishment, repairs and maintenance
  • Good technical writing, client–facing and communication skills (both internal and external)
  • Well–organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well–disciplined and commercially astute
  • A team player with a 'can–do' attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful and flexible
