A new opportunity with a UK-Top 100 commercial law firm has become available for a Housing Management Solicitor at Associate level in central Leeds.

Previous experience of working for social landlords is essential, while experience of acting for housing associations is desirable, as is experience of supervising junior colleagues.

Housing is one of this firm's core markets and focus areas for growth. This leading Housing Management team operates as one team with lawyers based in all four offices. They advise a considerable number of registered providers, ranging from many of the top ten largest providers in the country at one end of the spectrum to smaller, specialist providers at the other and everything in between. Whilst the majority of work is for housing associations, they also increasingly provide housing management services to a range of other types of organisation, including local authorities, care providers, the NHS, universities, charities and private landlords.

This Housing Management Team has experienced significant growth over the last couple of years, and is now one of the largest housing management practices in the country.

Your role will involve advising social landlords (and other landlords) on a wide range of housing management issues, including:
  • Possession claims
  • Injunction claims
  • Cases involving the Equality Act 2010 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • Breach of tenancy claims
  • Disrepair
  • Access injunctions for gas and electricity safety
  • Failed succession cases
  • Leasehold management advice
  • Service charge disputes
On offer is a substantial benefits package which includes 25 days holiday (plus the option to buy up to an additional 5 days), a generous pension scheme and private medical insurance.

This is a hybrid role, with the successful candidate working partly at home and partly in the office. The core operating hours are 9am - 5:15pm Monday to Friday, although they are open to considering requests to work more flexibly.

If you are a Housing Management Solicitor meeting the above criteria, please apply directly via the link.
