E-commerce Commercial Finance Manager

A growing dynamic and sought after Consumer brand is seeking a new Commercial Finance Manager for their team to work closely with the Digital director. This is a superb opportunity to join a fast–paced dynamic environment where you will help to drive continued, profitable growth.

You will present recommendations for action, supported by robust insight and analysis, that you will communicate effectively. You will monitor the execution of these actions, ensuring strategic intent is delivered.

Specifically you will business partner the Group Global E–commerce Director and team to drive commercial decisions to optimise the performance of our global E–Commerce channels You will work on items such as driving global product and channel optimisation, setting effective ECommerce pricing and promotion strategies, and supporting trading terms negotiations with our E–Commerce partners. You will establish effective monitoring of our E–Commerce performance and will own the E–Commerce financials, ensuring investments are sound and costs are controlled appropriately.

You will also support the Group Head of FP&A by generating routine reports and ad hoc analysis that will provide insight into our overall gross margin performance from a product, sales channel and geographical market perspective. You will drive a deep understanding of our performance from gross revenue to net revenue: discounts, rebates, returns, trade marketing etc. You will build effective relationships with our global FDs, understanding the drivers of any variances to forecast, and influencing improvements. You will ensure that our Net Revenue reporting remains relevant, keeping pace with the rapid growth of our business.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor gross margin performance, generating routine and adhoc analysis, helping to identify and drive actions to improve profitability.
• Run our weekly net revenue Scorecard (forecast) process: liaising with our FDs across the world, understand their market and the drivers of any variances to forecasts/budgets
• Manage ECommerce financials: ensuring costs are controlled, supporting production of month end accounts, and generating robust forecasts and budgets.
• Monitor global channel & product performance, proactively identifying opportunities for growth and ensuring we maintain a balanced/optimised channel mix.
• Support contract negotiations with our large global customers helping to deliver value creation through appropriate trade terms and promotional funding
• Create effective global pricing and promotions strategies for our Ecommerce channels; support the implementation of these strategies, monitor performance, generate insight on effectiveness.
• Establish reporting to link E–commerce performance metrics with financials, provide insight to drive growth in our Ecommerce channel
• Provide commercial finance support to projects and initiatives to further the 'premiumisation' of our brand, driving sustainable top line growth for our business
• Support the Group Head of FP&A with ad hoc analysis particularly during our quarterly forecasting and annual budget process

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience
• Experience of working in a commercial finance capacity with a premium brand and/or ECommerce environment would be preferable
• Possess excellent communication skills, able to influence at a senior level
• Pro–active, self–starter who embraces a 'blank paper' approach
• Very strong communicator
• Commercially astute, results driven, change agile
• Thrives in a fast–paced, dynamic working environment, adept at managing multiple priorities
• Highly proficient in Excel
