Head of Functional Skills

My client, who are recognised as a market leading Apprenticeship Training organisation have created a brand new role of Head of Functional Skills to support the next phase of their ambitious growth.

As Head of Functional Skills you will be responsible for leading the functional skills and Additional Learning Needs (ALN) provision to create a sustainable and diversified sector with enhanced intrinsic value, whilst supporting the Work Based Learning (WBL)sectors in delivering the agreed business targets.

The Role

??Building trusted relationships to promote, deliver and embed the functional skills strategy, driving the profitable growth and operation of the sector in line with the organisations mission and vision

??Taking accountability to develop an operating model that delivers the sector strategy and objectives alongside leadership of the associated team structure

??Ensuring the sector quality standards are in line with the Organisations and Ofsted guidelines.

??Effectively managing and monitoring the operations and financial results of ALN against plans and budgets

??Maintain and enhance the relationships with key external stakeholders and 3rd party suppliers

As Head of Functional Skills you will need to demonstrate:

??Proven experience of managing a team of staff at a senior level within a target driven environment

??Track record of achieving challenging targets

??A pragmatic approach, with ability to add value in a commercial sense

??Comfortable operating at senior management level

??Experience of working in high demand environments, to targets and tight deadlines

??Strong communication and self–motivation skills

??Experience of WBL/Educational environment and functional skills delivery
