Hays Legal are delighted to representing a leading Bluechip UK Company in their search for a capable Employment Law Solicitor to join their growing legal team in Belfast.
Your new role
In your new role you'll be accountable for:
- Single point of contact (SPOC): The legal advice in any SPOC area assigned to you from time to time and the stakeholder relationship in your SPOC area.
- Delivering your team goals (set each year) as well as any personal goals.
- Support the Principal Employment Lawyers and Legal Director, Employment to deliver our strategy.
- Deals: Advise HR, Legal and the bid teams on TUPE, deals, procurement, M&A, and exits; draft, review, and negotiate TUPE/people clauses; represent BT during negotiations; flag risk during due diligence.
- Business Change Projects: Advise on reorganisations, redundancy, T&Cs changes.
- Settlement Agreements (SA's): Draft, review, negotiate and advise HR on SA's (including Exec SA's)
- Case Management: Advise HR and Line Managers on grievances, investigations, disciplinary, performance and attendance cases (and any other case management queries).
- Employment Tribunals (ET's): Run ET's (including drafting, negotiating, settling and where needed advocacy).
- Trade Unions & Employee Relations (ER): Advise on all things related to unions and ER, including collective bargaining, recognition and industrial action and employee representatives.
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified solicitor with current practicing certificate in England & Wales and/or Scotland/Northern Ireland/Republic of Ireland and with significant experience of dealing with GB employment law matters
- An experienced legal practitioner with a wide range of experience in private practice or in-house with around 3 years' post qualification experience as an employment specialist, although candidates with the relevant skills and experience with any PQE are encouraged to apply
- Significant experience of handling an independent case load of deal work including TUPE contract negotiations, M&As and JVs, insourcing, outsourcing, retendering and TUPE consultation
- Be able to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels in order to advise and shape the companies employment law agenda
