I am recruiting an interim solicitor for an in house Commercial role for a client based in Leeds.
Client Details
Our client is a large Financial Services client based in Leeds. They have a large legal team and they are recruiting a Commercial solicitor for a 12 month interim role.
Description
Some of the responsibilities for the role are as outlined below
Provide expert and strategic legal advice on a timely basis as required across the Group with particular emphasis on (but not limited to) advising upon all aspects of commercial contracts and contract law, including (but not limited to) commercial contract drafting, negotiation and management, Share Plans, privacy and data protection - including handling all queries, providing coaching and training to business colleagues where required and the oversight of outsourced external legal work. Provide expert and strategic legal advice on Share Plans issues and other business projects and initiatives. Enable the Group to operate in line with all legal and regulatory requirements, ensuring that all emerging legal risks are identified and controlled, with all breaches of the Group Legal Risk Policy appropriately mitigated. Undertake horizon scanning and provide insight of all new relevant legal and regulatory developments in the changing legal and regulatory landscape, ensuring that relevant areas of the business are briefed on the impact of such legislation and other regulatory developments on the Group's business and assisting with the development of action plans to mitigate the impact of such legal and regulatory change.
Profile
Solicitors from a private practice or in house background should apply for this role. What would be desirable is having an understanding of financial services industry, markets and competitors but this is not essential. Also an understanding of how financial services organisations operate and the associated regulatory environment would again be preferable but not essential.
