Corporate Solicitor

The Client

Our client is a leading global law firm, who are looking for a corporate associate to join their Birmingham team.

The Role

This is an opportunity for a qualified solicitor to join a global team advising clients a all stages of their transactions including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, private and public equity and debt offerings.

You will be working on a wide range of complex issues including:

• Cross-border M&A (public and private), including:

o inception, planning and due diligence o deal execution o post-merger integrations o joint ventures o growth by alternatives to M&A

• Capital Markets (equity and debt)
• Private Equity
• Investment Funds
• Venture Capital
• Corporate Governance

The Ideal Candidate

• Solicitor or barrister, ideally qualified in England & Wales or a Commonwealth jurisdiction
• Ideally 2-6 years PQE
• Experience across private equity and M&A transactions across a range of sectors
• Experience working across jurisdictions and/or with emerging markets
• Proven track record of leading deals and negotiations
• Commercially astute and stays current on key legal and business news
• Excellent skills in communication, client relations, and team-working
• Provides a professional, quality service in a timely manner, and responds effectively to requests from internal and external clients
• Recognises and seizes opportunities for the firm, including repeat business
• Builds and develops own network of internal and external contacts
• Awareness of business development initiatives in the department and identifies ways to contribute
• Maintains a controlled, objective and flexible approach under pressure
• Proactive and innovative
