Head of Audit, Retail
A rare opportunity has arisen to join the Retail Bank audit team as Head of Audit. This specific role will focus on the Consumer Finance business (Consumer Cards, Unsecured Personal Lending, Commercial Cards and Motor Finance) and the Retail Bank Chief Operating Office, which includes Data Management, Supplier Management, IT Application Ownership and Workforce Planning.
You'll interact with a number of Retail Bank Executive Committee members and their teams, including the Consumer Finance Managing Director and the Retail Bank Chief Operating Officer. You'll also represent GIA at several GEC–1 level Committees, MBNA Board and work in close collaboration with departmental peers to bring a wider RFB perspective to the retail division.
Retail Bank is undergoing an ambitious 'Reimagine' programme which includes division–specific activities as well as participating in major Group change programmes. As the largest Retail bank in the UK, the Group Internal Audit Retail Bank team plays a pivotal role in Helping Britain Prosper by providing assurance over the activities carried out by the division, including new and emerging strategic propositions.
We're looking for strong business acumen and strategic thinking, as well as a deep understanding of risk and control to influence and contribute at senior forums. Curiosity, drive, proactivity and commerciality are core behaviours needed for the role. We are seeking an individual who can approach assurance opportunities with a fast–paced and ambitious mindset, influence decision–making at all levels and across all lines of defence to get the right result for the business. We want you to:
Take ownership for developing, planning and implementing the organisation's audit strategy.
??? Manage relationships with key internal customers and act as their business partner, while typically using support teams to ensure client happiness.
??? Provide input into the development of compliance policies, develop underlying procedures and supervise their implementation.

??? Develop functional or operational policies and participates in developing policy frameworks for area of responsibility or department, crafting underlying procedures and monitoring their implementation within the organisation.
??? Manage the delivery of a major part of the organisation's project management programme, while taking personal responsibility for a few business critical projects.
??? Develop innovative solutions by integrating and analysing complex and diverse information sources.
??? Manage the development and/or delivery of an element of the organisation's strategic planning.
Do you have these skills?
- Awareness of Retail Banking industry and product lines and the ability to apply this knowledge to take a 'big picture' view of a situation, weighing information in context to make quick, logical, sound decisions
