YOUR ROLE

We have a unique opportunity for an experienced customer and service focused Head of Procurement. This role is open to application across the UK with a flexible approach to travel.

Our procurement team is responsible for leading and managing all commercial, contractual and supplier management activities relating to the supply of goods and services from external suppliers to our UK&I teams. With a focus on business continuity, growth and delivering on cost effective, innovative, swift, and quality business propositions, the team aim to ensure the most effective service and commercial environment to our customers.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Reporting into our Procurement Director for Europe, you will lead a diverse team of Category Managers and Buyers ensuring that they have a clear understanding of projects and targets which form part of the procurement strategy. You will lead and embed clear continuous improvement initiatives of supplier selection processes, supplier management, procurement activities and procurement processes across the team.

You will oversee the timely issue and return of supplier RFI / RFP processes, take ownership of procurement policies and procedures, support in defining the procurement strategy and communicate any potential issues, project risks and countermeasure proposals to management and stakeholders.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

You will already be operating at a senior level with significant procurement experience, ideally within a Third–Party Logistics environment.

Your ability to engage and foster excellent working relationships with both internal customers and suppliers will be essential to delivering sustained improvements within agreed service levels.

Within this fast pace and multi–tasking environment you will offer exceptional support to internal customers and interact with the wider global procurement team ensuring the UK&I deliver on business requirements, you will produce accurate reports on UK&I procurement activities and budgets therefore strong analytical and problem–solving skills are required.

Your strong people management skills will be crucial in creating a high–performance culture through coaching and development whilst implementing sustainable improvements to drive business performance. Proven experience if managing a diverse team is also a key requirement of this role.

Our ideal candidate will hold a CIPS qualification.
