Job Outline:

The company is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Head of Operations (Operations Director) to ensure high quality products makes their way into the hands of our customers on time.
The candidate will be responsible for taking the operations department to the next level (improving efficiency, throughput, and quality) and is accountable to the Managing Director and may be called to the board.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management:

?? Lead, Manage, and hold all members of the Operations Department Accountable.
?? Cascading EOS; running departmental L10's, setting departmental quarterly rocks, annual goals, and KPIs.
?? Departmental resourcing (including accountability chart).

Manufacturing & Dispatch:

?? Production line capacity management (kitting and assembly of components into our products).
?? Dispatch department (shipping products B2C, volume to resellers, and bulk to OEMs).
?? All matters pertaining to global logistics, including import and export.
?? Ensuring seamless export into Europe and ROW.

Stock and Supplier Management:

• Stock availability (Some customers order off–the–shelf, some order custom).
• Stock levels to balance supply, demand, and financial risk.
• Inbound and outbound OTIF.
• Robust supply through second sourcing & supplier contracts.
• Engineering procurement support from development through to production.
• Supplier qualification.
• All aspects of ERP system.
• All warehouse operations (goods in, storage, etc).
• Working closely with sales dept to ensure both 99% OTIF, and shortest possible lead times for consumers both internal and external.

Quality and Safety Management:

• QC (Quality Control) department to guarantee products received meet our standards.
• Implementation and oversight of our QMS. Ultimately ISO9001, but short–term focus is a world–leading customer experience.
• Health and Safety oversight and ownership.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

?? 5 years in a Head of Operations or similar position.
?? Experienced in collaborating with R&D function (bringing products from ideation to production).
?? Experience in companies selling both to B2C customers (e–commerce, of the shelf, next–day) and, B2B customers (PO, custom production, long–lead).
?? Proven track record of developing and managing an operations division.
?? Experience with global logistics.
?? An academic background would be a strong positive.
?? The role within our Leadership Team calls for a candidate with natural flair for teamwork and collaboration.
?? Excellent written and verbal communication.
?? Strong IT skills. Fluency in Excel as a minimum, experience in management of ERP expected, programming experience a strong positive.
