THE ROLE – Head of purchasing

Providing the strategic direction, change leadership and functional expertise, the role will oversee the establishing, maintaining, and implementing of purchasing projects which includes supplier selection and development through supplier assessment, approval, rationalisation, reviews, benchmark, and negotiation.
This role will drive continuous improvement and assist in the annual budgeting process and re–forecasts as required, control and management of department budget.
This position requires an influential figurehead who can improve and challenge specifications, costs and service levels through internal relationships and external supplier management.
THE PERSON – Head of purchasing
Essential:

Higher education/university degree in purchasing or mechanical discipline
At least 5 years experience in Senior supply chain management roles Proven change management experience.
Continuous improvement knowledge – lean manufacturing techniques within a Multi–site environment.
Able to travel within the UK and Europe occasionally as and when requiredIdeal:
From the domestic plumbing and heating sector.

PACKAGE – Hear of purchasing
Basic cGBP60K to cGBP80K depending on experience.

THE LOCATION – Head of purchasing
All of Yorkshire. (North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, East Yorkshire and South Yorkshire.)

Relevant cities: Leeds, Ripon, York, Sheffield, Bradford, Huddersfield, Barnsley, Wakefield, Hull.
