Head of Strategic Campaigns – RFCM

Leonardo is a prestigious Defence Electronics Company specialising in Electronic Warfare systems for military air platform protection seeking a Head of Strategic Campaigns. The successful candidate will work as part of the wider Sales team leading campaign activity for specified opportunities with the aim of winning new business.

The Head of Strategic Campaigns must be able to seek out, develop and close order intake opportunities for new business in UK and international markets. They will have a proven track record in Sales or Business Development, preferably in the defence sector. Demonstrable knowledge of military air operations is also preferable but not essential.

What you will do:

Leading a team of up to 3 campaign managers in order to :
Secure order intake to meet forecast targets for current and future years by managing a portfolio of key campaigns and opportunities
Identify, create and validate opportunities for future sales and growth.
Lead and coordinate all bid activity to deliver successful outcomes
Develop and maintain relationships with Customers & End Users as well as Industrial Partners.
Develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders including Regional and Divisional Marketing, the Capability function and EW business areas.
Utilise internal company procedures to ensure that opportunities are identified, tracked and accurately reported to senior management.
Effective management and utilisation of the Business Winning budget by bidding for and managing the spending of funds required to prosecute campaigns
Provide input and general support for communications events (exhibitions, demonstrations, conferences, etc) as required.
What we are looking for:

A successful track record of Order delivery
A strong understanding of EW/Air Platform Protection, either through operational experience or through gained expertise.
Significant experience in developing, managing and leading key sales campaigns within the defence or other comparable sectors.
Will have worked in a global matrix organisation with complex reporting structures in an Integrated Project Team (IPT) Integrated Campaign Team (ICT) environment.
Experience of contributing to the broader business agenda in regard to commercial decisions, operations and customer delivery within a Sales context.
Strong leadership and motivational skills.
Able to develop strong, trusting relationships at all levels within the business and externally and be able to influence effectively at a senior level.
A capacity to overcome barriers and enact change.
Demonstrable collaborative/team behaviours
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Self–starter and highly motivated and able to set short and long–term planning goals in line with campaign and business needs.
Output oriented style with focus on achieving clear and ambitious goals.
Financially aware with the ability to interpret and manage forecast, budget and variance to maximize outcomes
