Prosper Recruitment is working on behalf of one of the UK's largest companies providing innovative products into the energy, regeneration, and services markets. Our client are already leading providers of renewable energy and facilities management solutions and have expanded their capability into development, construction and low carbon place making. Due to restructuring this Tier 1 contractor is looking to recruit a Managing Director for their central regions.
You will currently be a Managing director, Regional Director or Operations Director currently working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Contractor and possess strong leadership and mentoring skills to be considered.
Responsibilities:
Help shape and develop a service delivery model alongside the COO and group MD's that promotes and reflects best practice, which can be used for reference to help secure future work.
Create a highly motivated workforce who have pride in the job they do.
Develop a can–do attitude within the operational teams, overcoming challenges and issues in a proactive, professional manner
Deliver high levels of customer satisfaction
Achieve annual budgets including maintenance of accurate financial projections for the business
Maintain tight financial control.
Support Senior Managers in terms of performance, profit and loss and KPI's and organically grow the business
Leading residential development strategy with land & partnerships teams
Developing business plans for growth, sustainability and new markets
Establishing joint ventures for major PPP and PFI opportunities
Winning work strategy development and implementation
Developing, training and recruiting excellent teams
Strategic bid leadership and management
Supporting new product market entry
Health and Safety Responsibilities:
Actively promote and enforce Health Safety and Environmental Policies.
Regularly review Health and Safety performance on site and ensure implementation of the company Health and Safety procedures is on going
Ensure all staff have skills and understanding to fulfil H&S requirements, identify training where required

Qualifications, skills and experience:
Knowledge of the development of transaction documentation and real estate based joint venture mechanisms and deliverables to achieve clearly defined project objectives.
Good understanding of the planning process, timeline, use classes, key deliverables required for different types of planning applications
Strong track record in delivering remediation, infrastructure, and civil engineering for residential / mixed use developments for either a major construction business or developer with in–house construction capability
Strong customer relationship skills with an ability to drive growth and new business.
Experience managing complex, high volume, multi phased mixed–use developments of over 1500 units through planning to completion.
Excellent understanding of the development and sales process from viability to aftercare.
Excellent operational delivery record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
Excellent financial acumen with strong P&L, balance sheet and cash focus.
Proven Leader with ability to inspire, motivate, support as well as be a Team player.
Proven successful track record in delivering employee engagement and development.
Sound understanding and experience of risk and opportunity management.
Good prioritisation and time management skills.
Ability to negotiate and influence.
Highly competent in all Technical aspects of construction.
Effectively delegate tasks.
Desirable:
Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
Member of MCIOB, I Eng or CEng MICE or equivalents.
PC literature and knowledge of MS applications
