Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has an opportunity for a Business Improvement Lead Project Manager – POC on a 6 month's contract with a possibility of an extension.

Job Purpose.

A skilled Project Manager, using specialist knowledge and ability, to deal with complex situations and challenges, to lead implementation of the Councils RPA programme.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of the rolling programme of process automations and will ensure most effective use of project resources to deliver to the Councils transformation objectives, under the guidance of the RPA Steering Board. They will be responsible for the relationship with the business, ICT and the supplier to deliver the project's objectives and will seek opportunities to ensure RPA potential to streamline and improve efficiency is maximised.

Main Accountabilities.

Works under general direction within a clear framework of accountability. Exercises substantial personal responsibility and autonomy. Plans own work to meet given objectives and processes.
Influences customers, suppliers and partners at account level. May have some responsibility for the work of others and for the allocation of resources. Participates in external activities related to own specialism. Makes decisions which influence the success of projects and team objectives.
Work includes a broad range of complex technical or professional activities, in a variety of contexts. Investigates, defines and resolves complex issues.
Selects appropriately from applicable standards, methods, tools and applications. Communicates fluently, orally and in writing, and can present complex information to both technical and non–technical audiences. Facilitates collaboration between stakeholders who share common objectives. Plans, schedules and monitors work to meet time and quality targets. Rapidly absorbs new information and applies it effectively. Maintains an awareness of developing technologies and their application and takes some responsibility for driving own development.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience.

Relevant degree or equivalent experience
Industry specific qualification in Prince 2 or other recognised Project management methodology or equivalent experience
Evidence of CPD
Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including some out of hours work as required
Significant experience managing projects and ICT/RPA implementations preferably within local government
Minimum of 2 years direct line management responsibility or significant experience of managing others through project delivery
Experience of successfully delivering complex projects requiring independent working as well as ensuring others complete delegated tasks and activities
Experience of leading projects to deliver new IT systems, through the complete project life cycle, from inception to testing and roll–out. Including product design and configuration, systems testing and handover to operational service delivery
Experience of working with key business stakeholders at a senior level
Experience of producing project documentation, including PID's Project Plans etc
Experience of matric managing a multi–disciplined Project team, across ICT and the business functions, experience of RPA would be advantageous
