Nationwide Lifts & Escalators Ltd are looking for a very organised individual to establish and head up an accounts team in a busy service office environment, the role is currently undertaken by our office manager who is looking to hand over her current responsibilities to the successful candidate so that she can concentrate on her usual activities. Initially you will work very closely with the office manager and Directors, with a full handover of current procedures and practices.

The individual should have experience in a similar service–based sector e.g., engineering / fire protection/ construction / installations and maintenance.

Qualifications to AAT Level 4 would be desirable but not essential as demonstration of the right key skills to carry out the role are essential.

The individual must be hard working and should be able to work well with a team and be able to identify best practices for discussion and consideration with the company directors. Therefore, we are looking for someone with experience in a similar role.

Your Responsibilities?????????

?? Data entry from our field management software into Sage 50 Accounts to translate completed jobs into Sales Invoicing to accurately update the Debtors Ledger.

?? Updating the Debtors Ledger as receipts are received into the bank for timely up to date and accurate Debtors Statements to be produced.

?? Overseeing Credit Control

?? Manage company cash flow and arrange supplier payments

?? Running month end and year end procedures and compiling management reports (P&L and Balance Sheet)

?? Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments, journals and similar accounting entries

?? Working with our Purchase Ledger Accounts Assistant to ensure the Creditors Ledger is reconciled, entering Purchase Payments into the Sage 50 Accounts system.

?? Bank Reconciliation to ensure that all receipts and payments have been accurately entered into the Sage Accounts system and Petty Cash Maintenance

?? Being first point of contact for the accounts department responding

?? Experience of VAT and accurate recording of transactions in order to prepare and submit the VAT Return to HMRC

?? Experience of Sub–Contractor CIS and recording of data ready for submission of CIS Returns to HMRC and knowledge of the new CIS Reverse Charge Invoicing requirements.

?? Basic HR duties i.e., administration of contracts, overseeing and recording staff holidays.

?? Proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office

You will have an accounts assistant who will assist you with your duties.

?? A full time, permanent role working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday (9 am – 5 pm)

?? Salary of GBP25,000 – GBP30,000 depending on experience
