Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen within a large NHS organisation for a capable Contracting Lead.
The post will be in the Southeast for 3 months at a Band 8c, with the opportunity for remote working.
Oversee the management and governance of contracts across the organisation.
Main Responsibilities:
The post holder will engage with all services across the organisation, providing specialist expert advice;
Lead on the execution and management of contracts;
Act as a strategic thinker who can deliver the best outcomes for the organisation;
Maintain sound business relationships through negotiation with and influencing stakeholders in a complex working environment;
Utilise strong management skills and an eye for detail, to always deliver value for money;
Supervise a team and possess a strong understanding of the importance of building relationships both internally and externally;
Work under pressure to meet tight and often changing timescales;
Monitor the performance of contracts.
A successful candidate will have:
A postgraduate degree, or equivalent proven practical experience in a contracting environment;
Minimum 5 years in an NHS management role;
Extensive experience and specialist knowledge of contracting in the NHS or public sector;
Strong skills in negotiation, performance, and contract management to support operational teams;
Significant understanding of contractual risks;
Significant experience of drawing up public sector contracts;
Evidence of managing complex relationships, negotiating successfully in a political environment;
Sound knowledge of NHS finance regimes;
Excellent written and oral skills;
Organisational skills and attention to detail in both written and verbal communications;
The ability to prioritise multiple strands of work and meet deadlines.
