Interim Financial Controller for an ongoing 3 month assignment
Dumfries based with agile working (3 / 2)
Inside IR35, circa GBP60k

Axon Moore are working with an exciting acquisitional SME south of Glasgow. They are part of an international brand and are rapidly growing under new investment with plans to double the size of their UK footprint in the next few years.

Job Description:

As interim Financial Controller you will be accountable for delivering financial management excellence and for controlling all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as assisting with the ongoing development of internal control policies and procedures.

Duties:

• Provide effective management and advice on financial matters, ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed and reported
• Ensure effective and robust financial accounting operations, to include billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, revenue recognition etc.
• Manage and maintain all necessary systems and data records to ensure effective and efficient financial management, and robust internal controls
• Develop and coordinate the annual operating budget to ensure a clear and robust financial budget is produced, coordinating with colleagues as appropriate
• Ensure all financial and statutory reporting and regulations are met, preparing the company's financial accounts & records to ensure that these are presented timely and accurately, including local GAAP and IFRS
• Ensure all financial commitments are met in a timely manner with effective oversight of all Company expenditure, through supervision, management, process control and authorisation procedures & policies
• Monitor external contracts and services provided by all suppliers to ensure that they are cost effective and financially efficient
• Ensure company assets are protected and secure, including effective management of cash flow and debts
• Work closely with external partners to ensure effective relationships, including managing the internal and external audit process
• Lead the finance team, developing high performing individuals, supervising and managing all finance team performance and development

Person Specification:

• Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
• Appropriate financial qualifications

The head office is based about an hour's drive south from Glasgow but they offer working–from–home arrangements three days a week and may be able to accommodate additional flexibility
