Your new role
We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join us on an interim basis to cover maternity leave.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a critical role within the Finance team. Day to day you'll help manage all aspects of accounting for a number of business units, as well as leading a number of direct reports providing support and advice and acting as an escalation point on more complex issues.
You'll take ownership for managing the production of key financial reports and commentary, working at pace to quickly grasp an understanding of performance and to analyse key variances.
You'll be comfortable preparing and critiquing forecasts/pipelines and budgets whilst business partnering colleagues in commercial, operational and support functions to provide analysis and insight to aid informed decision making.
What you'll bring
* Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with at least 3 years' post–qualification experience
* Proven experience of successfully managing and developing a team
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with experience of partnering non–finance colleagues
* A self–starter with strong experience of multi–tasking and an ability to work and prioritise under pressure
* Excellent analytical skills with an eye on attention to detail whilst also being able to see the bigger picture where appropriate
* Experience of complex accounts preparation and management of the balance sheet
* Systems literate with good understanding of financial systems and excellent Excel skills
* Experience of contracts; including working with commercial colleagues to review and comment on contract terms and profitability, accounting and managing accrued/deferred income and the timely invoicing of contract amounts
* Experience of managing internal/external audits
