The Company is a large Group Food Manufacturer based near Wolverhampton. The business requires a Financial Controller that would relish the opportunity to work alongside a hard–working and motivated team. The Financial Controller will be given significant support and flexibility to deliver what is needed from the role, with the freedom to implement systems and procedures in their own way. This is an excellent and exciting opportunity to make a difference, add value and feel like a valued member of the team and reporting directly to the Finance Director.
The Financial Controller duties will include:
* Ownership of the full finance function including Fixed Assets, Sales and Purchasing function and the accompanying management accounts production
* Meet all reporting deadlines for the Group and related Companies
* As FC, business partner the other senior operational staff in the business
* Management and training of a small team
* Oversight on accounting controls and processes and have attention to detail on improving the function
* Year end accounting procedures alongside with being a key audit contact
* Online bank payments and transfers
* Bank activities and reconciliations
* Balance sheet reconciliations
* VAT returns
* Collating management information
* Any other activities as required by management for the effective running of the business
The candidate will:
* Have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role preferably in the Food industry
* Be able to communicate effectively across all members of the team
* Be able to adapt to different situations and show flexibility in approach
* Be able to identify and implement efficiencies in financial systems
* Experience with using Sage Line 50 and preferred knowledge in Sage X3
* Experience with using Microsoft Excel, Power point and Word
* Preferably be ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified.
* Candidates will be considered if they have hands on experience in both industry and practice and can show competency across a variety of fields
