My client are a manufacturer of high value, low volume complex products, due to significant capital investment they are now looking for a business development professional to enhance and grow a new work stream for the business. This is an exciting opportunity to really put your mark on this brand new role.
Role Purpose
The role is responsible for developing new business to enhance new work streams within the business coupled with forging new relationships with clients. To ensure clients' and the Company's needs are met, the role will liaise regularly with other sales personnel, and colleagues from other departments such as design, purchasing planning, production, quality and senior company managers.
Main Duties
* Searching for new clients who could benefit from our products in a designated region.
* Establishing new, and maintaining existing, relationships with customers.
* Managing and interpreting customer requirements.
* Being pro–active with your pipeline by maintaining contact with customers, suppliers, and lenders.
* Persuading clients that a product or service will best satisfy their needs
* Providing pre–sales technical assistance and product education
* Calculating client quotations
* Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions
* Negotiating tender and contract terms
* Administering client accounts
* Offering after–sales support services including client concerns/problems
* Analysing costs and sales including preparing reports for the board
* Meeting and exceeding sales targets on a weekly and monthly basis. This will include self–management
of KPIs.
* Recording and maintaining client contact data
* Co–ordinating sales projects
* Helping in the design of custom–made products
* Supporting marketing by attending trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events
* Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs.
* Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts with the business
* Regular travel to new and existing customers.
Person Specification
* Excellent relationship, account management, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to demonstrate the use of advanced sales skills especially but not limited to listening,
questioning, summarising, providing, negotiating, closing and handling customers concerns.
* Excellent communication skills
* Someone who thrives in a fast–paced, target driven environment, without compromising on quality of
delivery
* A positive and resilient working attitude consistently performing at a high level to meet and exceed targets
* Ability to work with autonomy and a self–starter
* Willingness to travel
* Excellent organisational skills
* Strong business acumen with excellent analytical, decision making, and problem–solving skills.
Skills & Experience
* Proven sales experience with a minimum of 3 years' sales experience in a high activity sales environment.
* Demonstrable track record within a technical sales/engineering management environment of driving
revenue growth through a new and existing customer base.
* Ability to understand Machining & Composite Manufacture and use them effectively to manage pipelines and sales activity would be a distinct advantage.
* Proficient experience in Microsoft packages i.e. office, word and excel.
* Must hold a UK driving license and the ability to travel frequently across the UK to attend meetings
