Our client combines chemistry, innovation, ingenuity and close collaboration with their customers, to design and manufacture high performance adhesives and coatings. These enable their customers to develop market leading products, that are critical in countless end use applications.
Job Purpose:
* To maintain and grow profitable sales to existing and new customers.
* Have a "can do" mentality and be prepared to get involved in ad hoc projects and tasks.
Principle Accountabilities:
* Finding, qualifying and winning profitable new business in the target market sectors. This will require travel to customers across the UK as well as carrying out information gathering on target customers/markets.
* Maintaining and developing profitable sales with existing customers is also part of the role, with account responsibility being divided between the Business Development Manager & Commercial Director.
* Assist in the development of efficient and accurate reporting systems that help maintain excellent customer service, internal communication and maintain profitability. (SAGE, Excel, Word).
* Assist in the development of the company brand image, interacting with the Marketing manager and commercial team.
* Take ownership of complaints for customers directly allocated to the role.
Job/Role Knowledge, Experience and Skills Requirements:
Knowledge/ Qualifications
* Essential – Technical qualification i.e.: Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Polymer Science.
* Desirable – Maths, Science, English qualifications.
Experience
Essential:
* Experience of selling of bespoke formulations to meet customers specific needs, identified through a consultative process.
* Experience of selling toll manufacturing services.
* Experience of selling "off the shelf" products
Skills
Essential
* Technical background and ability to understand end user processes.
* Good communication and relationship building skills.
* Driving licence.
* Understand value selling.
Desirable
* Contact list in solvent based adhesive and coatings sector.
* SAGE.
* Awareness of digital marketing techniques.
* Sector experience of adhesives and coatings.
* Good awareness and skills with MS Office package.

* Good fit with the team in operations, technical, commercial.
* Self starter, independent worker.
* Good telephone skills.
